Galaxy Z Flip 4, Z Fold 4, Galaxy Watch 5, Buds 2 Pro… the South Korean manufacturer presented its latest technological flagships at Samsung Unpacked 2022.
On Wednesday August 10, the manufacturer took advantage of Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2022, its traditional summer conference, to present the latest iterations of its flagship products. The event, which was held online, provided an opportunity to discover the Korean giant’s future foldable smartphones and wireless headphones as well as its new connected watches.
The opportunity also for Samsung to formalize the technical characteristics and the price of these new objects while many rumors and speculations have circulated in recent months on this subject. Overview.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4: in the continuity of its elder
We take the same and start again. For the Galaxy Z 4 Flip, Samsung contented itself with a refresh. With a clamshell format and a 6.7-inch folding screen, the design of the smartphone takes up the main lines of its previous version. However, it is lighter, more resistant, waterproof and also much more customizable than its predecessor by offering many shortcuts.
Equipped with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the latest generation chip from Qualcomm, one of the most powerful on the market, the Flip 4 erases one of the main flaws of its predecessor by having better autonomy and a system of faster charging from 15 W to 25 W.
For the photo, no revolution: Samsung keeps the two 12-megapixel photo modules as well as the 10-megapixel selfie camera from the previous version. Available in three colors (graphite, pink gold, lavender), the Flip 4 will be marketed on August 26 for a price of 1110 to 1290 euros depending on the storage capacity chosen.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4: improvements at the margin
Without revolutionizing the range, the Korean brand’s new gondola head for smartphones corrects certain shortcomings of its predecessor. By taking up the design of the Fold 3, the Fold 4 still manages to be lighter and more resistant than it.
The main novelty of this high-end smartphone which can be converted into a tablet lies in its processor: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 which allows it to obtain excellent performance in use and to be more energy efficient.
Another major innovation: the photo component with the integration of a 50 megapixel main sensor, inspired by the Galaxy S22, for a much better definition than the 12 megapixels of the Z Fold 3. The Fold 4 will be available on August 26 for a prices ranging from 1,800 to 2,160 euros depending on the storage capacity chosen.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro: reinforced solidity and autonomy
The new range of Samsung connected watches has new functions and improved autonomy. According to the South Korean manufacturer, the Watch 5 battery can give it an autonomy of up to 80 hours. That’s double the previous version.
The main differences between the classic version and the Pro version are in the size of their respective screen; the second iteration offers a slightly wider case; and different materials that give them significant strength: aluminum and titanium for the Watch 5 and titanium with sapphire crystal for the Pro version.
When it comes to design, these new watches have a similar design to the Galaxy Watch 4. The Watch 5 costs between 300 and 380 euros and the Watch 5 Pro between 470 and 520 euros.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro: audio quality on the rise
As with the previous products, little change in design for the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. This new model of wireless headphones, which is positioned in the high-end segment, displays as its main innovation the integration of a brand new Bluetooth audio codec which promises better audio quality. Samsung also points to improved customizable Active Noise Cancellation. The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are available at a price of 230 euros.
