The president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, has condemned the attack carried out on Tuesday against a hospital in the Gaza Strip and has stressed that its flames “will soon reach the Zionists”, amid accusations against Israel for its role in the event. , which has left around 500 dead, according to the authorities of the enclave, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

“The flames of the Israeli-American bombs dropped on innocent Palestinians receiving medical attention for their wounds in a hospital in Gaza will soon reach the Zionists,” he said in a message on his account on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter. .

“The silence of any free human being in the face of such a war crime is not permissible. Iran, as part of the Islamic nation, is in mourning,” Raisi said, after the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hosein Amirabdolahian, called for “unity.” global” in the face of Israel’s “terrible crime.”

The head of Iran’s foreign ministry said on Tuesday on his X account that “more than a thousand innocent women and children” died in the attack and called for “global unity of humanity” against “the false regime” of Israel, which he said “is more hated than the Islamic State and its killing machine.”

For its part, the Government of Iran has indicated in a statement that “the Zionist regime has caused its own end at the hands of the Muslim people of Palestine and the region with its crime by bombing the Al Ahli hospital”, an event that “will not remain unanswered”.

Likewise, he has stated that “the European and United States leaders are complicit in these war crimes” and has supported “the legitimate and legal right of the suffering and oppressed people of Palestine to achieve self-determination and freedom from the tyranny of the occupants”.

“The Zionist occupying regime has committed countless crimes and atrocities since the Nakba – referring to the creation of the State of Israel in 1948 – until today, but without a doubt the attack on a hospital full of innocent, wounded and sick people will be a point turning point in the list of crimes against humanity by this regime,” he denounced.

“All Muslim and Islamic nations must stand up to this false regime and use all necessary means to put an end to this endless cruelty and murder of innocent Muslims,” ​​he said in his statement, published by the Iranian Presidency through its Web page.

Authorities in Gaza and the Palestinian Authority have accused Israel of bombing the hospital, which was home to thousands of patients, relatives and refugees, while Israel has said the center was hit by a projectile fired by Islamic Jihad. For their part, the countries of the region have been unanimous in their condemnation of Israel for its role in what happened.

The United Nations and numerous non-governmental organizations have warned of the serious deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the enclave due to the Israeli bombings and the siege imposed after the Hamas attacks, which left nearly 1,400 dead and some 200 kidnapped. The Palestinian authorities have put the death toll from the Israeli bombings against the Gaza Strip at more than 3,300.
