The death toll due to the Israeli Army’s bombings against the Gaza Strip after the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has increased to more than 8,300, as indicated this Monday by the authorities of the Palestinian enclave, controlled by the Islamist group, who have stated that nearly 3,500 children are among the dead.
The spokesman for the Gaza Ministry of Health, Ashraf al Qidra, has put the number of deaths at 8,306, including 3,457 children, while raising the number of injured to more than 21,000. Thus, he has pointed out that “a large number of martyrs are still under the rubble” of the buildings destroyed by Israel in its air strikes, according to the Palestinian newspaper ‘Filastin’, linked to Hamas.
“The occupation forces have carried out 908 massacres in the Gaza Strip,” he denounced, while calling on the international community to “protect medical facilities”, after Israeli attacks have left 25 out of service. hospitals in the enclave. “We ask the residents of Gaza to go to hospitals to donate blood, in the absence of a sufficient amount to save the injured,” she stressed.
The bombings, which have been followed by ground operations in recent days, were triggered by Hamas attacks, which left nearly 1,400 dead and more than 225 kidnapped. For its part, the Palestinian Authority has indicated that more than one hundred Palestinians have died at the hands of the Israeli Army or in attacks by settlers since October 7.
