Billionaire Elon Musk replaces Twitter’s blue bird logo with an “X”

The owner of Twitter, Elon Musk has replaced the blue bird logo on Monday that has identified the social network since its inception in 2006 by an “X”.

This design change is already seen on the web version of Twitter, but has yet to occur on the smartphone version.

Twitter replaced the logo after Musk – who bought the platform last November for $44 billion – asked his followers to post logo presentations and noted that if posted “a good enough X logo” I would use.

On Sunday, the fellow Tesla owner and creator of the SpaceX space program pinned a tweet to his profile with a video created by a Twitter user named Sawyer Merritt and swapped out his own profile picture for the new X logo.

According to the specialized media The Verge, the billionaire sent an email over the weekend to Twitter employees telling them the company would become Xand that it was the last time he would send an email from a Twitter address.

In April, Twitter ceased to be an independent company after merging with the new company X Corp.

Musk has a close and long relationship with the letter X: was the original name of Paypal; it’s in your company name SpaceX; in the name of one of the Tesla models; in the name of his artificial intelligence company xAI and is even part of the name of one of his children, X Æ A-12.

It is not the first time that Twitter has changed its logo since it became part of Musk’s empire, in April, the bird logo disappeared for a few days to be replaced by the image of a Japanese breed dog Shiba inu associated with the Dogecoin cryptocurrency, created in 2013 as a joke.
