Apple introduced Business Connect, a new tool that will allow its users to find more information about businesses locations when they access Apple Maps, their native navigation application.
The company explained that this will be possible thanks to the fact that the businesses themselves will be able to add cards with key information that allows them to connect with their potential customers in a more direct way. Likewise, it gives them the possibility of having greater control over the way in which users see them through the Internet, something that is crucial when it comes to getting potential new clients.
“We created Business Connect to provide Apple users around the world with the more accurate information on places to eat, shop, travel and moresaid Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services.
Among the information that can be added from now on are offers, photos of the place, logos, in addition to making it easier for the client to make a reservation at the location directly from the Maps app.
They stressed that Business Connect is now available in the United Statesso businesses can start making use of the features now. They hope that in the coming months the function can be available in the rest of the worldso that hundreds of millions of users can begin to see the additional information when they use Apple Maps.
“Businesses can also provide customers with useful information by highlighting actions they can take directly from the Maps location card, such as ordering groceries through Instacart, making a hotel reservation through Booking.com, or reserving a place for dine with OpenTable, and more, with just a touch”, adds Apple.
From the company they explain that In order to sign up for Business Connect, business owners can use their Apple ID, which functions as your identification number. Once the person in charge of the company logs into the tool, he has the possibility to “reclaim his location”, that is, to assume control of the information that is published about that particular site.
It should be noted that all this process is completely free and that users will not have to pay to be able to use this tool.
Once a business has signed in and Apple has verified their business, they can claim their location(s) and start updating and customizing their location card, all for free.
They add that in the case of those businesses that have multiple branches, they will be able to enjoy an Application Programming Interface (API) that will allow them to manage each of them easily from a unified control center.
