donald trump announced Wednesday that it will launch an initiative to celebrate 250 years of American independence in 2026 with the “greatest party of all time”, if he is elected to the Presidency in the 2024 election.
“As a nation, we must prepare for the most spectacular birthday party ever,” Trump said in a statement from his Agenda47 campaign group where he made his announcement.
According to the plans of the Republican candidate for the Presidency in 2024, the celebration titled “Salute to America 250” (Saludo a EE.UU. 250) will occur for almost an entire year, from Memorial Day (last Monday in May) of 2025 to July 4, Independence Day 2026.
The center of the commemoration, to which citizens and leaders of countries around the world will be invited, will be a “great fair” with pavilions from all 50 states, the statement said.
The fair will be built in the state of Iowa and sports competitions between athletes from high schools and universities and all kinds of events will be held on its premises to highlight the 250 years since the founding of the United States in 1776.
Trump’s project also contemplates a park with statues of the country’s national heroes.
Already in his first speech as president before both houses of Congress in 2017, Trump referred to the 250 years of independence and the need to celebrate that anniversary as it deserves.
So far, six Republican candidates have registered for the primaries that will elect Democrat President Joe Biden’s rival in the 2024 election. Former Vice President Mike Pence is also expected to register in the coming week.
Among those who have already announced their candidacy for the Republican primaries are the former US ambassador to the UN nikki haleyformer Governor of Arkansas Asa Hutchinsonbusinessman Vivek Ramaswamy and the African American senator Tim Scott.
Former Governor of New Jersey chris christie He will also register his candidacy in the coming days, according to the media.
