A new survey of Harvard CAPS/Harris threw that the Ron DeSantis popularity dropped five percentage points versus donald trump who for the first time is shown well above the governor of Florida.
The survey that was published by The Hill shows Trump with 45% vs. DeSantis who got 23%a resounding drop in a period of one month.
According to the survey, what is “alarming” about this result is that in a hypothetical primary matchup, 39% of Republican voters would back DeSantis for the republican nomination as long as Donald Trump wasn’t in the racebut that is still 10 points less than in January.
Mike Pence saw a slight increase in support achieving 17% in the pollwhile nikki haleythe first Republican to formally challenge Donald Trump for the 2024 Republican nomination, increased his support to 10% five points above the one that placed it last month.
In a hypothetical confrontation between Trump and DeSantis, the former president also wins, beating the governor of Florida with 56% to 44%. That’s a different finding than many other recent polls, which have shown DeSantis gaining the upper hand over Trump in a one-on-one race.
The poll was conducted February 15-16 and surveyed 1,838 registered voters.
