State Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron told 15 attorneys as well as legal support staff during a Manhattan courtroom that New York’s $250 million fraud lawsuit against Donald Trump, his family and company will go to trial in October, as scheduled.
“I am determined to start the case on time”, Engoron indicated. “Whatever happens and excuse my French.” It is planned that the trial is held on October 2, 2023 at 10:00 am.
Trump’s lawyers insisted on the hearing, as they have repeatedly in 5,000 pages of recent court documents that the name is just a brand abbreviation for some 500 Trump-owned subsidiaries.
“We are careful lawyers”Trump’s lawyer, Christopher Kise, a former Florida attorney general, explained of any discussion of whether the Trump Organization exists.
Attorney General Letitia James’ lawsuit, filed in September, described the real estate company as a long-standing criminal operation that regularly forged documents by inflating property values to get better bank loans and maximize tax deductions.
The Trump Organization is being overseen by a retired federal judge who is tasked with ensure that the company stops falsifying financial documents and does not move assets before the demand for a quarter of a billion dollars.
