President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris announced that their 2024 presidential campaign headquarters will be in Wilmington, Delaware,
In a statement, it was reported that the US president chose this state in search of his re-election because for him and his family it has great symbolism.
“That’s why there is no better place for our re-election campaign to be based. This election will be about upholding those values. Vice President Harris and I are proud that our campaign team calls Wilmington home.as we all fight to finish what we started for the American people,” the president said.
When Joe Biden was 11 years old, he and his family moved from Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Delaware, a state where he grew up and earned his bachelor’s degree at the University with the same name, in addition to representing the state for 36 years in the United States Senate, having been elected at age 29 as one of the youngest senators in the country’s history.
“The values of my family, my eternal optimism and my unwavering belief in the American middle class as the backbone of our nation comes from my home of DelawareBiden commented.
For his part, the Governor of Delaware, John Carney, said he was honored that the US president has chosen the state as headquarters seeking re-election.
“We are honored that Joe, the president who hails from Delaware, you have decided to make your campaign headquarters in Wilmington… Our state’s largest city has much to offer, award-winning restaurants, new businesses, beautiful parks and walking trails; we look forward to welcoming the president’s team to Wilmington. Delaware has always supported Joe, and he has always supported us.. We stand ready to help re-elect President Biden to his second term,” the governor said.
It was in 2020 that Joe Biden chose the city of Philadelphia as the headquarters of his campaign for the presidency.in Pennsylvania, a state where Jill Biden grew up in the suburb of Willow Grove.
Furthermore, the president Joe Biden established the Penn Biden Center in Pennsylvania for Diplomacy and Global Engagement at the University that bears the same name of the state.
In accordance with the tradition established by the US Congress since 1875, the presidential elections in the United States will be held on the first Tuesday of November, that is to say that by the year 2024 Americans will go to the polls on Tuesday, November 5.
