Elon Musk takes aim at the Department of Justice for having “a lot of interest in persecuting Trump”

The owner of Twitter Elon Musk considers that the new indictment against Donald Trump for 37 federal crimesfor having driven hundreds of classified White House documents to his Mar-a-Lago mansion once his term as president ended, leads to the Justice Department at the risk of losing the trust of the American public.

“There seems to be a much greater interest in going after Trump than other people in politics,” sentenced the tycoon.

Furthermore, he added that “It is very important that the justice system reject what appears to be a differential application or they will lose public trust.”

The tycoon’s statements add to the reproaches that Trump has repeatedly criticized the Justice Department for not going after President Joe Biden in the same way who also had a few packages of classified documents found in his Delaware house and a couple more in his former Washington office.

“My lawyers have been informed by the corrupt Biden Administration that I have been indicted, apparently for the box hoax, despite the fact that Joe Biden has 1,850 boxes at the University of Delaware, additional boxes in Chinatown, DCand even more boxes at the University of Pennsylvania and documents scattered all over the floor of your parking lot where you park your Corvette and which is secured only by a paper-thin door and is open most of the time,” he said Thursday by Trump via Truth Social this afternoon when he was told about the allegation.

On Friday afternoon, the office of special counsel Jack Smith, who is leading the investigation of the classified documents, announced that the former president stored dozens of boxes throughout Mar-a-Lago, as in: “a meeting room dance, a bathroom and a shower, an office space, his bedroom and a storage room”.

The 49-page indictment filed in Miami federal court shows for the first time a broader look where and how the FBI agents found the classified documents.

This is the second indictment Trump has faced in less than two months. In April, the former president pleaded not guilty to 34 felony charges filed by the Manhattan district attorneyAlvin Bragg, related to secret payments he made to the porn model Stormy Daniels to silence her about his affair in 2016.
