Democrat warns House ‘will be in chaos’ with McCarthy as president

Adam Schiff, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, whom Kevin McCarthy wants to oust, shared that the Lower House “will be chaos” when the minority leader is the president, assuring that he is very weak and will allow himself to be managed by Republican followers of Trump.

In an interview for the ABC program, this weekDemocrat Adam Schiff weighed in on Republican leader Kevin McCarthy’s promise to oust him and his response was that McCarthy will follow the lead of hardline lawmakers like Marjorie Taylor Greene or anyone else.

“I suspect it will do what Marjorie Taylor Greene wants it to do. He is a very weak leader, which means that they will adhere to the desires of the lowest common denominator, and if they want to remove people from the committees, that is what they will do,” Schiff warned.

The California representative also lamented that, “it’s going to be chaos with the Republican leadership.” In addition to adding that if the newly elected Republicans stick to the Trump ideology they will have a reputation similar to that of Rep. Greene.

Schiff weighed in on Attorney General Merrick Garland’s decision to appoint a special counsel to investigate two Donald Trump cases.

“If the same prosecutors who have been investigating the former president can move on to the special prosecutors team, then there is every reason to do so. The Department was very slow to work on the multiple lines of effort to overturn the election. It took them a long time to start, and the delay has already accumulated, I hope that the special prosecutor will move with greater skill”he pointed.

Regarding the 2024 presidential election, he confirmed that he would support Joe Biden if he runs for a second term: “I think he is extremely capable. If he wants to continue, I’m with him.”

Kevin McCarthy’s decision to remove Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell from their posts in part to diminish two of Trump’s strongest criticsand it is supposedly because of the reorganization of the Republicans now that they have taken over the House of Representatives.

McCarthy justifies this action by asserting that Adam Schiff lied to the public about President Trump’s ties to Moscow, plus Hunter Biden’s work in Ukraine. And he claims that Eric Swalwell had ties to a Chinese spy who had attacked California politicians.
