Joe Biden denied having been present, as indicated by his son Hunter Biden in some text messages, while his offspring was negotiating a trade deal with a Chinese partner in 2017.
The press questioned the president about his son’s statement that puts him on the ropes just as he is seeking re-election.
Biden, without delving into the subject, He said “no, I wasn’t” about it and when the press questioned him again, without hesitating and in a higher tone he said “no”.
This was the answer that the press was waiting to hear, since the White House has remained silent on Hunter Biden’s text messages that have provoked anger among Republicans and some nervousness among Democrats.
And it is that they were precisely the Republicans of CHouse Oversight Committee who released a series of WhatsApp messages last week that allegedly show Hunter Biden demanding millions from Chinese officials and using his father’s political connections as leverage.
“I’m sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled,” Hunter Biden said, according to the messages.
And he continues “tell the director that I’d like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand. And now means tonight.”
“I will make sure that between the man sitting next to me and all the people who know about my ability to hold a grudge forever, you regret not following my instructions. I’m sitting here waiting for the call with my father,” Hunter said.
Hunter’s legal representative spoke about this series of messages through a press release.
“The DOJ investigation covered a period that was a time of confusion and addiction for my client. Any verifiable words or actions of my client, in the midst of a horrible addiction, are solely her own and have no connection to anyone in her family,” said Chris Clark.
Until now, anonymous IRS whistleblower has been unable to ascertain if Joe Biden was sitting next to Hunter as the president’s disgraced son claims.
