    Americans don't want to talk about politics on Thanksgiving

    Most of the Americans don’t want to talk about politics at the Thanksgiving tableThis was revealed by the Axios-Ipsos Two Americas index after a survey that was applied from November 18 to 21, 2022.

    Despite the refusal to touch the subject of “politics” in the most important celebration in the country, 41% of Democrats and 29% of Republicans said they are likely to raise the issue.

    Arguing about politics may be Americans’ least favorite Thanksgiving activitybut it can actually serve an important role in our body politic,” said Cliff Young, president of US Public Affairs for Ipsos.

    Young also indicated that “People who engage in these kinds of down-the-aisle debates are more likely to accept the legitimacy of the election.”

    The survey also found that Americans believe that the losing candidates in the midterm elections held on November 8 must give in because they believe that it is the only way the country can move forward.

    According to Axios, “61% overall, and 53% of those who identify as Republicans, say the Republican Party should leave Donald Trump behind” but “55% say Americans should reject claims that the results of the 2020 presidential election were invalid.”

    Another important piece of data found in the survey was that Americans who have shared food in the past year with people of different partisans, races, or ethnicities were more likely to say that Americans should reject the claims, without evidence, about him electoral fraud and go beyond Donald Trump.
