Federal prosecutors in Manhattan (New York, USA) are investigating Tesla for the use of funds to finance a project described as a secret glass house for the company’s CEO, Elon Musk, The Wall reported this Wednesday. Street Journal citing sources familiar with the matter.
The information requested from the company in the framework of the investigation includes the resources allocated by Musk to the project, the cost and its purpose. The US Securities and Exchange Commission has also opened an investigation into an internal Tesla scheme called ‘Project 42‘.

According to some plans, the glass house would have the shape of a hexagon, while other images show a building similar to a box that would include a residential element. Tesla’s lawyers and board members discussed the project, after company employees raised concerns about a multi-million glass order.
The investigations are in their early stages and may not lead to the filing of charges. Neither Tesla nor the Manhattan Prosecutor’s Office have ruled on the matter.
On the other hand, Elon Musk plans to build a “utopian” city in Bastrop County, Texas, for employees of his companies, including Boring and SpaceX.
