    A helicopter belonging to the Colombian National Army crashed this Sunday afternoon in the urban area of ​​the municipality of Quibdo, in the department of Choco, the president has informed of the country, Gustavo Petro.

    On his Twitter account, the president explained that the helicopter “was carrying out supply tasks” and noted that he gave “the order to the authorities to immediately travel to the area to attend to the emergency and investigate the causes of what happened.”

    In other videos obtained at the scene of the accident, the remains of the helicopter are seen engulfed in flames.

    Blu Radio indicated that, according to preliminary information, four people were traveling on the aircraft: a captain, a lieutenant and two sergeants. His status is unknown at this time.

    According to sources cited by El Colombiano, the origin of the accident could be a fall of the engine. The outlet has been able to learn, in a preliminary way, that the accident was destroyed in the Cabi sector, in the Nino Jesus neighborhood of Quibdo, and that the helicopter was transporting humanitarian aid to the Baudo region.

    Colonel Hector Alfonso, commander of the Army’s Titan Task Force in Quibdo, to which the aircraft belonged, reported that two bodies could be located and that the search is underway to find two others, which “apparently, According to what the community saw, they jumped out of the helicopter,” says Semana.
