Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to hold several meetings with other leaders within the framework of the forum.
The sixth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Measures in Asia (CICA) began this Wednesday in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
In this year’s edition, the forum, which brings together 27 countries which make up 90% of the territory of Asia and which together cover almost half of the world’s population, brings together some 50 delegations. The Kazakh president, Kasym Yomart Tokaev, has already announced the accession of Kuwait as a new member of the CICA.
Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to hold several meetings with other leaders within the framework of the forum. In particular, he will meet his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as the emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, among other leaders.
This year’s CICA summit commemorates the 30th anniversary of the initiative to convene this forum. In addition to the leaders of Kazakhstan, Turkey and Russia, the leaders of Iran, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Palestine, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are expected to attend the meeting.
In the photo, where Vietnam and China will be represented at the vice president level, the president of Belarus will also participate, since the nation has observer status in the organization.
