Luca Poclit won with a maneuver never seen before in MMA that was baptized among the specialized community as the ‘Luca-nator’ submission.
The Moldovan mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, Luca Poclit, left the American Dante Schiro unconscious and wide-eyed in his victory this Friday at the Bellator 285 event, in Dublin (Ireland).
As they struggled on the ground seconds into the second round, Poclit managed to somehow trap his opponent’s arm against his own neck, before he was able to free himself from the hold he lost consciousness.
The referee noticed that something was wrong and seeing that Schiro had stopped resisting, he quickly intervened. He separated the fighters and ended the match. When Poclit released him, the American vanished over the octagon with wide eyes. Seconds later he began to come to and received medical help.
The European middleweight won by technical submission with a maneuver never before seen in MMA that, although it turns out to be a variant of the so-called inverted triangle choke, was baptized among the specialized community as the ‘Luca-nator’ submission.
