The Chai Box recalled chai concentrate blends after learning that “possible underprocessing could lead to contamination by Clostridium botulinum”, reported The Chai Box in its recall notice published by the FDA.
The Clostridium patella it’s the bacteria that can cause botulism, “a rare but serious illness caused by a toxin that attacks nerves and causes shortness of breath, muscle paralysis, and even death,” according to the CDC.
The Georgia Department of Agriculture discovered the possible problem.
