In an interview with Fox News, former US President Donald Trump says he will end the war in Ukraine if he returns to the White House in 2024.
The balance of power. This is how Donald Trump intends to end the war in Ukraine. On Fox News this Sunday, the Republican milliairdiare, who intends to become president of the United States again in 2024, explained his strategy to “end the war” in Ukraine in 24 hours, as he has been promising for several weeks.
“I will say to Zelensky: ‘enough, we have to find an agreement'” with Putin, assured Donald Trump.
At the same time, if he is re-elected as head of the United States, the Republican will meet with his Russian counterpart. “I will say to Putin: ‘if you don’t find an agreement, we will give a lot [à l’Ukraine]. More than she ever had, if necessary,” continues Donald Trump.
“This war is a disaster”
“This war must be stopped. This war is a disaster”, hammered the former American president a few weeks ago. But the American Republican’s desire for peace does not seem to be in line with the wishes of Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin.
The Ukrainian president has repeated several times that he wants a complete withdrawal of Russian troops from his territory even before entering into any negotiations. The question of Crimea, a territory claimed by Moscow since 2014, does not seem to be negotiable: for Volodymyr Zelensky, this territory is not the property of the Kremlin.
On the Moscow side, despite the difficulties, Vladimir Putin does not seem to want to stop the “special military operation” on Ukrainian soil.
