Jesse Morehouse assured that Washington will continue to develop anti-satellite technologies “because it is the best way to prevent a conflict from occurring.”
US Space Command Brigadier General Jesse Morehouse said Washington is ready for a conflict in space after developing anti-satellite technologies to counter threats.
“The US is ready to fight in space tonight if necessary,” Morehouse told reporters at a briefing at the US Embassy in London, reports The Guardian.
“If anyone were to threaten the United States, or any of our interests, including those of our allies and partners with whom we have mutual defense support treaties, we are ready to fight tonight“, he added.

China, the US, India and Russia have tested anti-satellite capabilities by destroying their own satellites. Facing a new space race, Morehouse declared that his country will continue to develop anti-satellite technologies “Not because we want to fight tonight, but because it’s the best way to prevent a conflict from happening.”
“We have a variety of capabilities that we can apply, and we will continue to develop capabilities that allow us to maintain a credible deterrence posture,” he added.
