Ukraine hopes to resume peace talks with Moscow at the end of August when a new phase of counterattacks will have been carried out, said the main Ukrainian negotiator David Arakhamia this Saturday (06.18.2022).
In an interview with the Voice of America media outlet, Arakhamia advanced a series of Ukrainian operations against Russian Army positions on the front lines, without giving further details.
Negotiations are at a standstill right now. In late March, Kyiv proposed a round of talks in Istanbul, Turkey, but the positions are far apart.
Ukraine wants to maintain its territorial integrity and the total withdrawal of Russian troops from the east of the country, something that Moscow considers inadmissible.
The Kremlin has also called on Ukraine to declare its neutral status and renounce any possible future pact with NATO, which contravenes calls from Kyiv for security guarantees.
