The media received envelopes with usb devices that exploded when connected. There are no injuries.
This Monday morning, attacks with explosives were reported on three television channels in the city of Guayaquil, province of Guayas, in Ecuador.
The first took place in the middle of Ecuavisa. There, the journalist Lenin Artieda received a yellow envelope on Thursday of last week, which he opened this Monday morning and found an electronic device (pendrive) inside.
The outlet reported that Artieda inserted the device into his computer and it exploded. The journalist emerged unharmed from the attack and no injuries were reported among the newsroom or material damage.
The Police moved to the place, reported the institution’s commanding general, Fausto Salinas, through his Twitter account.
“We are with our journalists and we support their work, for which our specialized units have been deployed to find those responsible for this criminal act,” he said.
Later it was learned that similar envelopes were sent to the channels TC Television and Teleamazonas, to which the Police went to investigate.
More information, shortly.
