    The head of the British Army felt “a strong shock” when he saw a Challenger 2 tank destroyed in Ukraine

    This British combat vehicle, considered one of the most protected in the world, was destroyed this week by Russian forces in the Russian province of Zaporozhie.

    The head of the British Army, Patrick Sanders, has shared in an exclusive interview with Forces News that he felt “a strong shock” when seeing images of a Challenger 2 tank burning in Ukraine.

    During the interview, Sanders also noted that It’s likely he was on board that tank. and that the soldiers have a “deep affection“for the vehicles and equipment they have operated.

    This Wednesday, it was reported that the Challenger 2 tank, considered one of the most protected in the world, was destroyed by Russian forces with the impact of a Kornet missile in the Russian province of Zaporozhie. This is the first destruction of one of the 14 British tanks that London delivered to the Ukrainian Army.

    British Defense Minister Grant Shapps, after confirming the destruction of the tank, said that London will not send any new tanks to replace the lost one.
