    The Government of Colombia and dissidents of ‘Ivan Mordisco’ will create a team to “build trust”

    The Office of the High Commissioner for Peace of the Government of Colombia has released new details of the agreement reached with the dissidence of ‘Ivan Mordisco’, an irregular group known as the Central General Staff of the FARC-EP (EMC) with which Peace talks have been resumed.

    In a statement dated July 8, shared this Sunday, plans to create a “national team for the generation of trust and contingency resolution” are advanced during the preliminary phase of the dialogue table.

    The team will include representatives of the Colombian Government, the Central General Staff of the FARC-EP, officials from the Office of the High Commissioner for Peace, delegates from the UN Verification Mission in Colombia, the MAPP OEA, the Catholic Church and the World Council of Churches.

    “The parties reiterate the firm intention to move towards the construction of a peace agreement that puts an end to the armed confrontation and that promotes the achievement of a comprehensive, stable and lasting peace, with social and environmental justice,” the joint statement indicates. .
