    Russia is among the 20 largest food exporters in the world

    Compared to the previous year, Russia’s agricultural exports grew by 12% in 2022 and reached a value of 41.6 billion dollars.

    Russia ranked 17th in the ‘top 20’ largest food exporters last year, the Agroexport center of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture reported on Tuesday.

    According to its statement, Russian food exports accounted for 2.1% of the world volume. At the same time, among the 20 largest food exporters on the planet, Russia was the country that experienced the largest increase in the volume of exports in the last 10 years, multiplying these by 2.5.

    Compared with the previous year, Russia’s agricultural exports grew by 12% in 2022 and their value reached $41.6 billion. Specifically, cereal exports increased by 18% and meat by 23%, although fish and shellfish decreased by 12% and dairy products by 1.9%.

    Russia exports 20% of global wheat supplies

    The center points out that world exports of products from the industrial agriculture sector set a record in 2022, surpassing 2 trillion dollars.

    From Agroexport they indicate that last year 69.8% of world food supplies originated in the countries of the ‘top 20’ of the sector, a list headed by USA, Brazil, Netherlands, Germany and China. As regards the US, it increased its exports by 9.1% last year and its value reached 193,000 million dollars.
