A police officer in the city of University Place (Washington, USA) opted for an unusual tactic to catch thieves: barking like a dog.
The incident occurred on August 18, when several agents responded to the theft of a car by a group of teenagers. During the chase, an officer threw a strip of spikes onto the street. Although the vehicle suffered several punctures, it managed to pass through the trap, so the suspects did not stop and continued their escape.
Officers later found the car. Although it was empty, it was still lit, which led to the assumption that the fugitives were not far away. After surrounding the area, one of the police officers detected the young people in a wooded area, near a stream. The uniformed man demanded that they stop and threatened to release a police dog, after which he began to imitate the barking of a dog with his voice.
After several ‘barks’, the four minors decided to come out of hiding and surrendered. “The guys really believed there was a dog, and at the end they told the officers, ‘Man, as soon as I heard that dog, we gave up,'” said Sergeant Darren Moss, who praised his men for their creativity. .
