A Yeti Airlines plane crashed this Sunday with 72 people on board in the city of Pokhara, in Nepal, local media report.

According to a company spokesperson, 68 passengers and 4 crew members were on the plane at the time of the accident.
It is an ATR 72 plane that was flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The plane crashed in an area between the old airport and Pokhara International Airport, the spokesman, Sudarshan Bartaula, said.
Images were disseminated on social networks from the scene of the accident in which a black smoke and flames can be observed.
It is currently unknown if there are any survivors.
It is reported that a rescue team has moved to the area in a helicopter.
The ATR 72, co-produced by France and Italy, is a twin-turboprop aircraft used on regional routes and short-haul routes.
