Deputies of the Russian State Duma suggested to the West “to give up supporting the neo-Nazi ideology and the implementation of its principles in the activities of today’s Ukraine.”
The State Duma or Lower House of the Russian Parliament on Tuesday urged the parliaments of the world to condemn the execution of Russian prisoners of war at the hands of Ukrainian nationalists.
“The deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation received with indignation the report on another bloody crime of the kyiv regime – the shooting of Russian servicemen trapped in captivity,” reads the statement, which suggests to the West that ” renounce supporting the neo-Nazi ideology and the implementation of its principles in the activities of today’s Ukraine”.
The text notes that the execution of Russian soldiers taken prisoner is “a flagrant violation by Ukraine of international humanitarian law […] and international human rights standards.
In this sense, the deputies call for “unequivocally condemning the crimes of the kyiv regime, to help bring to justice the direct perpetrators of the inhuman murder and their sponsors.”
- The Russian Ministry of Defense denounced last Friday “the intentional and methodical assassination with direct shots to the head of more than 10 immobilized Russian soldiers” made by members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
- Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Russia demands that international organizations condemn and investigate the mass execution of unarmed captive Russian military prisoners of war by Ukrainian troops.
