    Israel confirms ceasefire in Gaza

    Shortly before, a spokesman for Islamic Jihad announced that the corresponding agreement had been reached with the Israeli authorities.

    The ceasefire between Israel and the Islamic Jihad movement comes into force this Sunday at 20:30 GMT, as confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Office of the Hebrew country.

    “The head of the National Directorate of Public Diplomacy can confirm that a ceasefire will take effect tonight at 11:30 p.m. [hora local]. The State of Israel thank egypt for their efforts,” the Office reported.

    The agency also indicated that “the right to answer firmly“if the cessation of hostilities is violated.

    Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) press service reported that less than half an hour before the truce came into force, the air strikes to the objects of Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip. Activation was also reported air raid sirens in southern Israel.

    For their part, from Palestine they denounce that Israel’s bombardments have already caused dozens of dead. According to the latest data of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, since the beginning of the IDF operation, 41 people have died – including 15 children and four women—and 311 civilians have been injured.

    The IDF announced on Friday the start of large-scale airstrikes against Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza. The operation was directed against weapons production sites, warehouses, as well as rocket launch positions of the movement.
