In the south, Ukrainian troops “advanced up to seven kilometers deep” from Russian positions, the official said.

Missiles and drones shot down
The Ukrainian army also said it had shot down the four Kalibr-type missiles and the four Iranian-made explosive drones launched by Russia during the night.

For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that it had repelled a total of seven Ukrainian “attacks” in the Donetsk region (east), which includes the city of Bakhmout in particular.
According to some military analysts, Ukraine has not yet launched the bulk of its forces in its counter-offensive, and is still currently testing the front to determine the weak points of the Russian defense.
