Lula calls for “dialogue” to end the war in Ukraine
The Brazilian president called on Tuesday for “dialogue” to put a lasting end to the war in Ukraine, during his speech to the UN General Assembly.
“The war in Ukraine exposes our collective inability to enforce the objectives and principles of the United Nations Charter (…) No solution will be lasting if it is not based on dialogue,” declared Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
Ukraine says it shot down 27 Russian drones overnight
Ukraine said Tuesday that its air defenses had shot down 27 Shahed-type drones launched overnight during a Russian air attack.
“A total of 30 attack drones were launched (…) 27 Shaheds were shot down by air defense units,” the Ukrainian Air Force said on social media.
The United States judges that the Ukrainian counter-offensive is “progressing regularly”
The Ukrainian military counter-offensive against Russian troops “continues to progress steadily”, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Monday at the opening of a meeting of Ukraine’s allies in Germany, during which he also announced the upcoming arrival of American Abrams tanks in Ukraine.
Two weeks ago, Vladimir Putin once again claimed that the Ukrainian counter-offensive to retake the territories occupied by Russia was “a failure”.
