A thrown bomb at a National Defense Forces camp in western Welega – Mendi town has killed one person and wounded several people.
The head of the city’s Office of Peace and Security, Alemu Gudina, told the BBC Amharic that Tuesday morning (16/9/2019) bombing was left one person dead and wounded many.
“First three people were injured and came to our hospital, later one dead man come” said Dr. Adam Oljira, medical director of the Mendi Hospital.
“It looks like all are hurted from bomb exploded spark,” said the medical director.
Still now no one is arrested connecting with this crime. Mr. Alemu said: “It is not yet known. We are investigating.”
Abebe Tekalign, mayor of Guliso, in western Oromia, have been killed Sunday night by gunmen at the entrance of his residence. Again residents told BBC that another two men were shot and killed by gunmen in Qelem, Welaga Zone Gidami town, on Saturday.
In Western Oromia, months of attacks and killings of residents and government officials have been made and no official responsible for the attack has been found.
In a related news, in Amhara Regional State, in Oromo Nation’s Special Zone – Bati Town there was bombed on Saturday, zonal security office head Hussein Ahmed told the BBC.
Nobody knows who fired the bomb, Hussein said, adding that the bomb did’t hurt anyone.
