At least 20 people were killed and more than 20 injured on Thursday in a fire at a textile factory in the Egyptian city of Obur, located north of the capital Cairo.
According to the information gathered by the Egyptian newspaper ‘Al Ahram’, three of the 24 injured have been admitted in critical condition to the Belbeis Central Hospital in the adjacent province of Sharqiya, so it is not ruled out that the death toll could increase.
Meanwhile, members of the Civil Defense are fighting the flames in the factory with 15 fire trucks and have set up a security cordon in the area to prevent the spread of the flames, the causes of which are not known at the moment.
