The Second Marquetalia pointed out that “it is time to give future generations the possibility of living in peace.”
The Guerrilla Coordinator of the Pacific Segunda Marquetalia, one of the dissidents of the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), reiterated this Friday that it is open to dialogue with the government of Gustavo Petro for the “total peace” agreement sought by the leftist leader.
Likewise, the group named the guerrillas Walter Mendoza, Ivan Ali and Yurleni Guerrero, and “others who would join the table later” as interlocutors with the State, reported El Espectador.
“The FARC-EP, Segunda Marquetalia, will be ready to start peace talks with the government, once the exploratory talks that are being carried out for this purpose are concluded,” they said in a statement entitled “Truce and Peace.”
In addition, they made a call to the social and political movement of the country, with a “special accent”, to the Armed Forces: “Let’s not lose or let lose this historic moment of Petro’s presidencywith the real possibility of political change to seal peace with social justice, true democracy and national sovereignty”.
