The Florida governor accused the former president of abandoning the principles of ‘America First’ regarding immigration, supporting covid restrictions and having “moved to the left” on key issues.
The governor of Florida and one of the pre-candidates of the Republican Party for the US presidential elections in 2024, Ron DeSantis, said Tuesday that he is going to “fight” against former President Donald Trump, after his recent criticism, reports AP.

Addressing his supporters in the state of Iowa, DeSantis also accused the former president of abandoning ‘America First’ principles on immigration, supporting covid restrictions and having “moved to the left” on key issues. In this way, he reacted to Trump’s recent criticism of his leadership during the pandemic, when the former president stated that Florida was “the third worst state in terms of deaths from covid.”
In addition, the governor claimed that he had never publicly criticized Trump when he was the tenant of the White House. “When we disagreed, I never publicly criticized him because he received all this (in reference to the attacks) from the media, the left and even some Republicans. And all the collusion [rusa] It was a total farce,” he said.
However, DeSantis found that Trump now “attacks him for some of these disagreements, but I think he does it in a way that gets the voters on my side.”
