Beijing believes the release will spread the risks of nuclear contamination to the rest of the world.
The Japanese authorities’ decision to dump water from the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant into the sea is a mistake, and China will be forced to take all “necessary retaliatory measures,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman said Tuesday. Chinese foreigners, Wang Wenbin.
“The ocean sustains humanity. It is not a sewer for Japan’s nuclear contaminated water,” the spokesman told a briefing. “China strongly urges Japan to end its wrongdoingcancel the ocean dumping plan, communicate with neighboring countries with sincerity and goodwill, dispose of nuclear-contaminated water responsibly, and agree to rigorous international supervision,” he stressed.
The Chinese diplomat noted that Japan’s plan is “extremely selfish and irresponsible”since the release will spread the risks of nuclear contamination to the rest of the world, and in doing so Tokyo is “putting its selfish interests above the long-term well-being of all humanity,” he stressed.

From Beijing they assure that, together with other interested parties, they have indicated on multiple occasions that, if the water contaminated by the Fukushima nuclear power plant were really safe, Japan would not have to dump it into the sea. “It is unjustified, unreasonable and unnecessary”Wenbin stressed.
The Government of Japan recently announced that it will begin dumping into the ocean more than 1 million metric tons of treated radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
According to the Japanese government, the release of water is safe and is endorsed by the IAEA. In a June report, the agency said the dumping plan met international standards and the impact it would have on people and the environment was “negligible.”
