Artificial intelligence married Reece Wiench and Deyton Truitt in a 200-year-old church in Colorado, a few days before the groom left for the Army.
A couple from the state of Colorado (USA) who celebrated their wedding this June became the first in history to ‘hire’ ChatGPT instead of a priest to formalize their union, reports Fox News.
Reece Wiench and Deyton Truitt were married in the town of Morrison, in a 200-year-old church, using the ChatGPT to celebrate the solemn ceremony. The couple only had five days to plan their wedding because the groom had to join the Armed Forces. Due to time constraints and the fact that Colorado does not require a licensed marriage broker to officiate a wedding, Wiench and Truitt decided to ask artificial intelligence (AI) to marry them.
‘At first he said no.’I can’t do it, I don’t have eyes, I don’t have a body. I can’t officiate the wedding‘” says Stephen Wiench, father of the bride, about ChatGPT’s first response to the proposal. However, the couple did not give up and provided the chatbot with personal information about them and their relationship, and finally the AI agreed to your demand.
The bride and groom placed a blue mask with a face painted on it over a loudspeaker to make it look like someone was speaking during the ceremony. Wiench and Truitt were also not afraid to take risks and went up the aisle without knowing what the ChatGPT would say. But the couple was satisfied and did not have to regret their decision. “ChatGPT has taken an event as personal to a person as a wedding and made it more perfect.“said the bride.
