The lawsuit focuses on a vineyard, located in France, that both actors bought when they were a couple.
American actress and film director Angelina Jolie sued her colleague and ex-husband, Brad Pitt, for $250 millionin the framework of a dispute over property that both shared, reports Vulture.
In this case, it is the Chateau Miraval Vineyard that, in times of love, the couple acquired in the south of France in 2008.
According to the media, Nouvel, a company founded by Jolie, has filed a lawsuit against Pitt after claiming that he unleashed a campaign to take the control of the property they bought when they were still a couple, in “retaliation for divorce and custody proceedings” of his 6 children.
She also accuses him of “hijacking” control of the lucrative warehouse business they once shared, and to “guarantee” that Jolie would never see not a penny of his vast profits.
In addition, he argues that the couple reached an agreement that the actress would supervise their humanitarian projects, including the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, while “oversight of the couple’s investment in Chateau Miraval would remain in the hands of Pitt”.
The actress’ lawsuit comes after Pitt, whom she divorced 6 years ago, denounced her for deliberately damaging the reputation of her wine company in France and sell his part in it to a “stranger” to cause him trouble.
Brad Pitt’s civil suit, filed in June in Los Angeles Superior Court, claims they previously agreed not to sell their shares without getting each other’s approval to do so.
Chateau Miraval has 500 hectares and a mansion, and was the setting in which they celebrated their wedding in 2014.
