An Italian fishmonger named Gigi Pescheria has gone viral online for his striking resemblance to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
The man, a native of Naples, posts different videos on his TikTok account, which accumulates more than a million followerswhere he appears drinking coffee, eating desserts, working, talking to other people or, simply, walking down the street and, of course, dancing.
Users react with all kinds of jokes and leave funny comments under the videos. Some have noticed that even Gigi’s voice resembles that of the leader of Ukraine.
“While the West thinks of another aid to Ukraine, Zelensky moonlights in Naples, washing mussels,” wrote a Telegram channel along with one of Gigi’s latest videos.
However, the ‘tiktoker’ had already become famous long before Internet users noticed his similarity with the Ukrainian president.
Gigi rose to fame in 2020, when the country was in quarantine due to the covid-19 pandemic, the local press reports. At that time, she also worked in a fish market, in particular, making home deliveries for the elderly or for those who could not go downtown.
While many Italians were scared by the pandemic, the fishmonger decided to greet the whole world with a phrase “Gigi arrived with affection and love, with affection and sympathy, good morning!”.
Later, the catchphrase made him so famous that the man began to be featured on television and Ryanair used the catchphrase in one of its advertisements.
