Climate change activists have vandalized a $300 million luxury yacht owned by billionaire Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie on the Spanish island of Ibiza.
The group, calling itself Futuro Vegetal, explained on Twitter that two of its members used fire extinguishers filled with red and black paint to damage the Kaos superyacht on Sunday morning. “You consume, others suffer”, was the protest message displayed on a poster.

“The only reason we continue to maintain an economic system that leads us to ecosocial collapse is to sustain the privileges of this small privileged class,” Indian the group in a tweet. “The mega-rich live off the suffering of others,” she adds.
The yacht was reportedly scheduled to leave Ibiza on Sunday, and the graffiti occurred just as the crew was preparing to leave. The Spanish Civil Guard reported that two people were arrested on the dock for the incident, according to the Ibiza Newspaper.
The luxurious yacht belongs to the heiress of American supermarkets Walmart, Nancy Walton Laurie, daughter of co-founder James ‘Bud’ Walton. Laurie is considered one of the richest women in the world, with a net worth of $7.77 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
