A Mexican is left with severe brain damage after giving himself a ‘relaxing massage’

The man went to some public baths where his neck was “thundered” and he no longer got up.

A man who went to a public steam bath in the capital of the Mexican state of Puebla last week could be left in vegetative stateafter his neck was ‘cracked’, as part of a relaxation procedure.

According to the newspaper Milenio, the family of the man identified as Jeronimo Rodolfo Ramirez Leon, 43, has already filed a complaint before the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) against the owners of the place called Banos Villa Frontera.

The complaint is also in against the doctors of the State Orthopedics Hospital, due to negligence, since they assure that when Ramirez Leon arrived after the incident, they did not give him due attention and he had to be admitted to the General Hospital of the North, of the same entity, where they report him with a delicate state of health.

In an interview for Grupo Imagen, the niece of the victim, Susana Perez, asked for justice for her relative. “It is not possible that due to negligence my uncle is like this right now and the doctors tell us that there are two things, that he is left with paralysis or with brain damage,” she said.

In interviews for other local media, the woman has denounced that it is not the first case of this type that has been registered in the establishment, since once her uncle’s case was made known, there were other people who stated that they had had a similar problem.

The local authorities have already ruled on the matter. The municipal president of Puebla, Eduardo Rivera Perez, regretted what happened and urged the population to denounce any type of anomaly to avoid other cases in the Banos Villa Frontera, which, he said, “have been closed for not having or considering their program of civil protection”.

The official assured that the FGE will investigate the fact and will reach its final consequences.
