The now accused went to a hospital to check some injuries and there he confessed his crime.
A 22-year-old ex-carabinero was arrested in Chile and is awaiting a hearing, after confessing that he had murdered his partner, a 28-year-old Venezuelan woman.
According to preliminary versions, the crime would have occurred after a discussion that arose last January 1 2023, at the home shared by the couple in the Chilean city of Osorno, Los Lagos region.
The Osorno prosecutor, Narciso Garcia, indicated that although the detention carried out by the Carabineros was declared legal by the Guarantee Court, it will be formalized this Tuesday.
The now accused will be accused of the crime of consummated femicide“and the precautionary measures that are considered necessary will be requested, in this case, preventive detention,” Osorno said.

In a video posted on social networks, the official explained that the victim’s autopsy will be in charge of the city’s Legal Medical Service, while the pending proceedings in the case continue.
According to local media, the ex-carabiner would have gone to a local hospital to check some injuries and that was when confessed his crime to the health workers who treated him, for which he was apprehended.
Personnel from the homicide brigade, as well as from the Criminalistics Laboratory of the Chilean Investigation Police (PDI), went to the couple’s home, in the town of Miramar, where they found the body of the woman with head trauma and some injuries caused by firearm.

Data from the National Service for Women and Gender Equality (Sernameg), cited by Chilean newspapers, alert that during 2022 in the southern country 41 murders of womenexecuted by their partners or by men with whom they had a child in common.
