After the minor received medical attention, due to his visible state of weakness and dehydration, the Police ruled out that he had ended up locked up because of a human trafficking network.
Malaysian authorities found a child inside a container in a port area in the coastal town of Port Klang, near Kuala Lumpur. The little boy, a foreign national, was found by a shipping operator on January 17 while inspecting the cargo of a merchandise ship from Bangladesh. The video of the moment of his discovery and rescue became popular on social networks.
After the minor received medical attention due to his visible state of weakness and dehydration, the Police ruled out that he had ended up locked up because of a human trafficking network.
When he recovered and his condition improved, the minor explained to the authorities that while he was playing hide and seek with his friends, near a port in the city of Chittagong, in Bangladesh, he entered the container and fell asleep. He never thought that he would be transferred to a ship and taken out of his country, much less that he would end up trapped for six days in complete darkness, without food or water.
