It was reported that at least one policeman was injured by a bullet, while three of his colleagues suffered injuries due to an overturn.
At least 10 suspected criminals died this Monday after clashing with police officers from the Civil Force of the state of Nuevo Leon (Mexico) in the Nuevo Leon municipality of Salinas Victoria, near the federal highway to the Tamaulipas municipality of Nuevo Laredo, reported the Secretary of Security from Nuevo Leon, Gerardo Palacios Pamanes, quoted by local media.
According to the official, state policemen were attacked with bullets by unknown subjects who were traveling on the highway in three armored trucks, for which they responded to the attack, killing the occupants of the vehicles.
It also indicated that, as a result of the confrontation, an officer was wounded by a bullet, while three of his colleagues suffered injuries due to an overturn. Palacios Pamanes reported that “a considerable amount of weapons” was confiscated, including grenades, ammunition and tactical equipment, in addition to the three cars in which the attackers were transported.
According to local media, personnel from the Mexican Army and the National Guard arrived at the scene of the events, as well as agents of the Ministerial Police.
