This February 16 Abel Makkonen Testayne, better known as The Weeknd, celebrates its 33 years and does so by launching what will be a documentary of one of its most controversial concerts, it lost its voice and had to cancel it.
The Weeknd together with the HBO platform published on their social networks the trailer of the documentary of his show at the Sofi Stadium de Los Angeles, when the singer completely filled the place and lost his voice.
This documentary has a premiere date of February 25 on the aforementioned platform and will have the title of ‘The Weeknd: Live at Sofia Stadium’.
This production will offer fans from the comfort of their home the show the artist gave with songs like “Save your tears”, “Starboy”, “Blinding Lights”, “Can’t Feel my Face, I Feel it Coming”, and many other hits.
Of course they will offer unpublished images of moments before, during and after the concert. Highlighting the moment The Weeknd lost his voice and suddenly canceled the concert.
After this fact, the singer apologized and the production returned the money to all those who attended, but the complaints on social networks were evident.
Despite this unfortunate moment, the singer had Sold Out in Mexico and will perform on September 29 and 30 at the Foro Sol.
This production is directed by Micah Bickham, produced by Contrast Films and produced by The Weeknd, La Mar C. Taylor, Jordy Wax and Micah Bickham; co-executive producer is Aaron Cooke.
The Weeknd released his album, Trilogy, in 2012, which compiled three of his previously released mixtapes and some of his most popular songs like “High for This” and “Wicked Games.”
Since then, he has released two more compilation albums: “The Weeknd in Japan” and “The Highlights”.
He has collaborated with artists such as Beyonce, Drake, Daft Punk, Lana del Rey, and Kendrick Lamar.
In 2018, he won a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album for his collaboration with Daft Punk., “Starboy”. He has also won awards in American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards and Juno Awards.
Although The Weeknd is known for his dark and sensual style, his music also has a more vulnerable and reflective side.
