A few weeks ago it became known that the second season of the Netflix series “Monster” will show the story of Lyle and Erik Menendez, who were sentenced to life imprisonment in 1996 for the murder of his parents, committed seven years earlier. Now the names of the actors who will play the brothers have been revealed: they are Nicholas Alexander Chavez (known from the soap opera “general hospital”) and Cooper Koch (who played a small role in the series “Power Book II: Ghost”).
It is not yet known when the recordings will begin, since everything depends on the writers’ strike in Hollywood, which is still going on. The series will be titled “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” and will be produced by Ryan Murphy; the first season -in which the story of the serial killer was shown Jeffrey Dahmerinterpreted by Evan Peters– was a complete success for that platform last year, achieving audience records.
The trial of the Menendez brothers was known worldwide; in their statements they maintained that their father Jose Menendez sexually abused them. The case was discussed again a few weeks ago after Roy Roselloformer member of the musical group Slightaccused Jose of having drugged and raped him in 1984, when the singer was 14 years old.
