    Sam Neill Reveals He Was Diagnosed With Stage 3 Cancer

    The actor Sam Neilrecognized for his participation in the “Jurassic Park” saga as paleontologist Alan Grant, announced that was diagnosed with stage 3 blood cancer and is undergoing treatment.

    The announcement was made during an interview with “The Guardian”, where Neill also discussed the publication of her new memoir, called “Did I Ever Tell You This?” (Did I ever tell you this?).

    “I never intended to write a book. But as I went on and on writing, I realized that It was actually giving me a reason to live and I would go to bed thinking, I’ll write about it tomorrow... that will entertain me. And he really was a lifesaver, because he couldn’t have gone through it with nothing to do, you know, ”said the actor in the aforementioned interview.

    At 75 years old, Neill said that in March 2022 he felt his swollen glands for the first timewhile he was working on the promotion of the movie “Jurassic Wold Dominion”.

    After this, the actor decided to go to the doctor, who he was diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, that is, “a ferocious type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma“.

    She immediately started chemotherapy, but Neill noted that it didn’t work for her and she began to relapse, so she started receiving a new medication, which fortunately worked for her and the actor points out that he is free of cancer, but that he will have to take monthly medication for the rest of his life.

    In this new book, Sam tells of how he has dealt with this illness: “I can’t pretend that the last year hasn’t had its dark moments. But those dark moments have made me feel grateful for each day and immensely grateful for all my friends. Just glad to be alive.

    Neill relates that during the first round of chemotherapy he lost a lot of hair, “More than anything, I want my beard back. I don’t like the look of my face one bit,” she said.

    During the interview with the aforementioned media outlet, the actor assured that “I’m not afraid to die (…) but it would bother me. Because I’d really like another decade or two, you know? We have built all these beautiful terraces, we have these olive trees and cypress trees, and I want to be around to see it mature. And I have my adorable little grandchildren. I want to see them grow.”
