Rafa Pabon has good reasons for not including hypersexualized women in his videos.
“It has never been my style,” said the Puerto Rican producer in a recent magazine. It seems a bit ordinary to me. [ademas es] more of the same; That’s why I always try to do things differently”.
But not only that. The author of the mega-hit “Todo de ti”, together with Rauw Alejandro, says that, in addition to these changes in his style, in his new stage he will be more conceptual.
Precisely a few days ago he premiered “Que swing”, a collaboration with Chimbala and Bulova, two exponents of the urban genre whom he admires, because, you must know, Pedro is very selective and picky when it comes to choosing who he works with.
“I have to like what they do,” he said. “I have to admire him, and his music has to be different.”
The artist’s next EP, which will have five songs and will be released in October; It will also feature the participation of Pedro Capo. But what they did together will not be a salsa or a pop ballad. They decided on a bolero that has a fusion of trap.
“I wanted to do a dembow but I didn’t want it to look like others,” he said. “[Por eso] we put mambo and a fusion of Brazilian afropunk; I think that gave it a fresh air; it’s something new, refreshing and goes with my influence”.
In addition, Rafa’s music has a meaning, as he explained: “in music, one can also carry a message, and I feel that I have a commitment. I make music for all tastes, music to reflect on”.
“I think that’s the balance,” he said. “Always do things that are relevant.”
Regarding the recipe for creating successful themes, Rafa said that the important thing is to be honest and transparent when creating a product.
“I feel that with music I flow,” he said. “In transparency lies success.”
