This week the Johnsonville Sausage Company announced that will recall about 42,000 pounds of its “Beddar Cheddar” sausagesThis is due to possible contamination.
The company released a statement saying that “the safety of our consumers is our primary concern, which is why we are issuing the recall,” it said. For that reason, the recall of its products is entirely voluntary.
For its part, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service informed consumers that the famous strips of meat can contain very fine plastic that can cause illness. “It is a potentially hazardous health situation in which there is a remote probability of adverse health consequences from eating the food,” the USDA said.
Therefore, it urges consumers to remove these products from their shelves “this product must be discarded or returned to the place of purchase,” he said the agency since these fibers have been found at least once in packaged hot dogs; however, so far there are no damages or injuries to the people who have consumed them.
According to the company, recalled products are for 14-ounce packages which have a production date of January 26, 2023 with the code C35 for July 11 of this same year and the digit EST 34224 in the lower right corner.
