French fries are not a recurring menu item at the Taco Bell fast food chain; however, that could change very soon.
A recent announcement from the parent company of the Yum! brands hint at the possibility of permanently incorporating this food.
“We are thinking of including French fries permanently on the menu”Taco Bell CEO Mark King said during an investor presentation on Dec. 13.
Nacho Fries, Taco Bell’s French fries, have grown in popularity, but have only appeared on the menu for a limited time so far.
Its temporary availability has made it one of the most popular items in the company’s history. In fact, has sold over 53 million orders in history since they first went on sale. It has even surpassed other creations such as the Doritos Locos Tacos.
The first time that Nacho Fries were introduced to the market was in 2018 and it emerged as an experiment in the Mexican-focused menu. Unlike other fries, they are seasoned with a special blend of spices and come with a unique combination of nacho cheese sauce.
Despite the success achieved with these potatoes, Taco Bell sees the scarcity of this product as a key element to its popularity and success once it’s back on the market.
While it’s unknown when the new changes will take effect, King said Nacho Fries fans will have to wait.
King said he also wants to beef up Taco Bell’s breakfast items with chicken products. “It is time to commit. We are committed to closing both gaps and we have great opportunities in just those two days to grow business for years to come.”said.
The announcement of the addition of French fries to the menu comes months after the company announced that it would permanently add Mexican Pizza after the product left menus in the middle of the year due to high demand.
